Love your body

The first step that must be taken to lose weight or reach an ideal body size is for people to learn to let go of how they feel their bodies should look.  So often people are the most critical and judgmental of themselves- especially their bodies.  The idea  that a body should look a certain way only serves in keeping that critical voice alive.  Although it may sound crazy, a healthy relationship with the body can only begin when a person accepts their body exactly the way it is-  in this very moment.

In addition to building an accepting and loving relationship with the body, one must also let go of the importance of others ideas and opinions.  Unfortunately it is very rare that a person has gone through life without ever hearing a negative comment about their appearance.  This often happens during the formative childhood years.  As adults, it is the responsibility of each person to let go of the belief that what others think about how they should look matters.  In dropping this concept, people can reclaim their power.
